Blake waited for the lawyers to settle down. “Mr. Amato, you have been funneling millions of dollars into a shell corporation owned by Mrs. Joe Amato, disguising her personal bank accounts as a supplier,” Blake continued calmly.

“That’s a lie!” he yelled.

“May I remind you that you are under oath, Mr. Amato? We have received confirmation that Spice Corp. has over five million dollars in its accounts and my associate is petitioning the court to freeze those accounts as we speak. Upon court approval, which we expect imminently, the money will be transferred back into Amato’s accounts for the benefit of its creditors.”

“You can’t do this!” he snapped, and stood up.

“We are also working on tracking down the remaining millions and will garnish that money when we locate it. I have nothing further. Thank you for your time, gentlemen,” Blake closed her notebook, “…and lady,” she added, and nodded toward the cute court reporter, who blushed at receiving attention.

Joe Amato yelled at his high-priced lead lawyer, who turned to his associates and started barking instructions at them. They were already frantically flipping through pages and berating each other.

“That was incredible! Thank you so much,” said Kirk Wallace, jumping up and shaking Blake’s hand enthusiastically with both of his. “I’d like to fuck up whoever did this to your face,” he said in his state of excitement.

Blake laughed. “I already did. You should see the other gal,” Blake joked, and Kirk laughed heartily.

“I’ll give you a lift back to your office. My limo is waiting outside.”

“Thanks, Kirk, but I could use a brisk walk.”

Blake hurried home in the hopes of finding Janie still asleep in her bed, but no such luck. She did find a note on her pillow, however.

Thanks for the extra snooze time, even though I missed waking up to your kisses. Call me later at the salon, gorgeous.

Blake smiled and let her weight fall onto her bed. Her face hurt, but she was grinning. I want my nursey, she whined to herself and passed out.
